It is FriYay so why not have some fun! We went through a big fairy phase with each of the girls and my youngest is still obsessed with them. A local park sets up a fairy trail in the summer and we spend hours hunting for their homes and other fairy evidence. So there was a lot of excitement around today's theme.
1) Our day kicked off by getting into our fairy gear. We have plenty of dance costumes and wings laying around. I actually put on some wings myself until I knocked something over with them for the third time. The wings complimented my pajamas nicely. We took some pictures out front and I am sure my neighbors think I am insane by now.
2) So you guessed it we had a Tinkerbell party for Avery's 3rd birthday. She is 8 now, so I have kept all of this party junk for 5 years! It begs the question, what have I been keeping it all for? Whatever party supplies I have left at the end of all this, I am going to donate to daycare center. All of these things I have been saving for a rainy day. I guess the BIG rainy day is finally here.
3) I normally ask the girls to go to the library(our bookcase upstairs) and check out books on our theme. But that would have taken all morning given the number of fairy books we have on hand. So I picked out a few for them for school could start.
4) School started with our journal question of the day- if you could have a fairy talent what would it be? Their journal entries have been priceless! My talent would be to make my laundry do itself!
4) Fairy snack and lunch time are my favorites because I cannot cook to save my life. For example, I screwed up the brownies yesterday. I mean brownies! So I am all about the presentation. It makes up for my complete lack luster meals. You put out some blah food and slap a cute label or call it something cute on it and suddenly people dig it.

5) Some fairy meal favorites: Ants on a Log, Fairy Berries, Fairy Garden and Toad Stools(Strawberries on marshmallows) actually get my kids to devour the healthy stuff. Of course I ruined it by adding magic beans and fairy wands (Photos below)
6) After school, we painted rocks to decorate our fairy garden using a kit we had in our craft cabinet. I paid for a box of rocks and paints? Who does that? I would suggest you just find some rocks and use up your paints. This was one of their favorite crafts so I hope to do it again soon.
7) We had this cool terrarium that Elise got for her birthday. Planting something made me feel like I was providing some level of education. I am also lacking a green thumb so fingers crossed this will actually grow something.
8) We collected and pressed flowers in our fairy book
9) We somehow escaped the evening without having to watch a Tinkerbell movie!
Elise said today was her favorite day, so I am going to mark this one in the win column.
