Fashion Friday!

My girls love nothing more than putting on a fashion show. So, anticipation for Fashion Friday was high! I was stoked that I could roll a lot decorations from Theater Thursday into Friday. I had some pink and black decorations left from my 40th birthday and I found some cheap printables on Pinterest again. I also thought that the multiple pairs of sunglasses I found during the great garage clean out last week would work nicely as decor.

My husband and I joked about what to serve for Fashion Friday. I could really only find water, celery, and cigarettes as options but that wasn't going to work! We settled on a healthy display of cucumber water, fresh veggies, and fruits (still pushing the apples) Which was a stark contrast to all of the junk food I had put out in previous themes.

The girls started the day by dressing in their best fashions. They choose their Easter dresses which was bitter sweet because I know they are not going to get to use them much this year.

After school, we worked on some fashion crafts that they love! They have a fashion sketch book and this fashion designer kit that I highly recommend. It is just a body with scraps of material they can change out. No pins, no glue, no mess! And of course we love Fashion Plates. This was one of my favorites as a kid so even I enjoy this one. As fun as these are, they really aren't necessary, you can sketch on any piece of paper and dress a Barbie with scraps and rubber bands. We also prepped our shirts for our Jogathon tomorrow. I let them decorate an old white t-shirt with Sharpies.

The evening ended with a fashion show put together entirely by the girls. They selected all of their clothes and had so much fun changing into multiple outfits. The weather was perfect for an outdoor evening fashion show. They even put all the clothes away without needing to be asked multiple times. Going to call today a win!

Feeling incredibly blessed today. The news around us just keep getting worse. So grateful that we are able to keep busy in our little bubble away from it all. I am grateful for the time we have together and incredibly grateful to those on the front lines that make it possible.
