Fancy Friday!

So we have declared our first theme day Fancy Friday courtesy of the Fancy Nancy book series. The evening before, we made place mats from paper scraps and napkin rings from old pipe cleaners left over from a Halloween craft we never finished. I dusted off the good china and they helped me polish the silver. I have not used any of it in years, but the thought of it breaking didn't seem important anymore. The next morning, I let them pick out and wear their fanciest clothes and OMG I never thought I would be so thrilled to get out of my Yoga pants. I actually put on a bra for the first time in a week! We made brownies and sandwiches and I used some cookie cutters to cut them into little shapes. I ate the crust since bread has been hard to find. We made some tea which was heated up Snapple tea because I knew they wouldn't drink any of my teas. We had FaceTime tea party with some friends. It was the most "normal" I felt in days. Since the table was set, we had dinner using the fine china to eat our finest chicken nuggets. Bonus- nothing ended up broken.
