If you don't know Mo Williems (yes I spelled his name correctly) you should. I think Mo is one of the best authors for our children. We love Mo, and I feel like he gets me. I love children's books that are a little off color, lovable, and have some adult humor in them. Kids love Mo's books and they are the kind of stories that you don't mind reading over and over again. Knuffle Bunny, Pigeon, Elephant and Piggy are so loved in our home.
I was pretty wiped out from our Easter weekend so I was glad to have a laid back theme today. I set out our Knuffle Bunny, Pigeon, and all of our Mo Williams books. Holy smokes I didn't realize how many we had in our "library!" I also put up some of the girls Mo Williams drawings. Since we didn't have costumes for today's theme, I told them they could wear what they wanted. They selected their new bathing suits and cover ups from the Easter Bunny, and hey why not?

I thought I would be crafty and get the girls excited about doing the laundry. I thought we would start out our day by taking Knuffle Bunny to the laundry mat just like in the book. The girls were so disappointed that it was just our laundry room, they thought we were going to a real laundry mat! You know your kids are going stir crazy when they get excited about the prospect of going to a laundry mat.
Later that afternoon, we did Doodles with Mo. We have done several of his YouTube Doodle classes. He started offering them the Monday after the schools closed. He was one of the first to get out there and put together great free content. That first Monday, when I had no idea what were supposed to be doing, we had Mo and I will always be grateful. His programs inspired me to want to do a Mo Williems Monday when I first put together my theme list.
The girls ended up watching two episodes and made some great crafts. Mo also gives tours of his work space and shows some of the projects he is working on which I think is really cool,
Our other theme tie ins for the day included hot dogs for dinner as a nod to Pigeon Eats a Hot Dog. And yes an excuse for a long bath in honor of The Pigeon Takes A Bath. I tried to push for an early bedtime in honor of Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late but we ended the day with a marathon of our favorite Mo books. The Knuffle Bunny books will always have a special place in our hearts.
