Spa Sunday

I highly recommend spa day, minimum input, maximum output. This was a sweet day, good for the heart and soul. The girls are at such a great age where they are growing up but still just want to be with their Mom. They took great delight in setting up the spa area, thank you Spa Gregories for inspiring them! They wanted to make what they call "pickle water" (cucumber water) and put out mints, snacks, and everything spa like they could find. Avery made our official Jacobs Spa sign.
We had received a Barbie Bath Bomb making kit for Avery's birthday a few months ago. This seemed like the perfect day for that craft. It was a ton of work for 4 little bath bombs but it kept them entertained for hours. As someone who cannot cook, a complex recipe gives me anxiety but somehow it worked! There are a ton of easier options on Pinterest. From what I can gather it is really about the baking soda and some essential oils. I was pleasantly surprised how well they came out and worked in the tub.

This was a marvelous excuse to bath them! We all took baths and did a face mask. We even asked Alexa to play some spa music which they described as "kinda weird." We gave Daddy the honored position of "Spa Attendant" and he fetched us warm towels and robes.
Next up was manis and pedis. I let them do my nails, which is something I had never done before. Pre COVID-19 Mommy always had nice manicured nails. Not important right now. I wish I had taken a picture of the aftermath because my hands looked like a crime scene dripping in red nail polish but they were really proud of themselves.
I actually felt more relaxed and looked better than I had in a long time. Now if only I could find a way for them to cover up my gray hair.
